Rules for post-graduate applicants Information for post-graduate applicants

Federal State Budgetary Institution D.I. Ivanovsky Institute of Virology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation was created in 1944 as a part of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. For 65 years, postgraduate and doctoral studies have been performed on its basis. The School of Virology at the Institute enjoys well-deserved respect in Russia, the CIS countries and far abroad.

A unique team, which includes 3 academicians, 2 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, 43 doctors, among which 25 have the title of "professor", as well as 112 candidates of science.

The Council of Young Scientists is actively working at the Institute.

The Institute has a Dissertation Council.

For example: in 2010, 9 candidate theses and 1 doctoral thesis were defended. Of these, 5 theses were defended by graduate students.

The main areas of activity of the D.I. Ivanovsky Institute of Virology are fundamental and applied research on the following problems:

  • Influenza,
  • HIV / AIDS,
  • Viral hepatitis,
  • Arboviruses,
  • Rabies,
  • Herpesvirus infections

and other especially dangerous and socially significant infections, which are carried out in accordance with the state assignment on 7 fundamental scientific topics.
Work is underway to maintain and replenish the State Collection of Viruses, the National Collection of Cell Cultures, and the collection of plasmids.
To solve these problems, a wide range of methods is used - from classical virological to full genome sequencing.
There is a valid license for educational activities.

You are invited to apply to the following laboratories:
