Dissertation Board

The Institute has Dissertation Board D 208.131.01 for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations in the following specialties:

• 03.01.03 – molecular biology – biological sciences,
• 03.02.02 – virology – biological and medical sciences,
• 14.01.09 – infectious diseases – medical sciences.

The Council was established in 1958. The Council consists of three Academicians and a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 12 Professors and nine Doctors of Biological or Medical Sciences. The Dissertation Board considered the papers written not only at the D.I. Ivanovsky Institute of Virology, but also at other specialized institutes. At least ten thesis papers are defended annually.
