Sergey Leonidovich Kalnov

Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Means of Specific Prevention of Viral Diseases.

He graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the Chair of Animal Chemistry. Since 1980 — Cand. Sc. Biology. he has 40+ publications in our country and abroad. S.L. Kalnov is a co-author of the patent and development of diagnostic test systems using the EIA and PCR methods for some human and animal infections approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. He is fluent in English.

S.L. Kalnov has actively participated in international projects: ISTC, INTAS, specifically, as a manager. The projects have been implemented jointly with the following organizations: ARS, USDA: National Animal Disease Center, Ames, Iowa, US, ARS, USDA: Plum Island Animal Disease Center, New York, NY, US, ARS, USDA: Poultry Disease and Oncology Laboratory, East Lansing, Michigan,US, ARS, USDA: South East Poultry Research Laboratory, Athens, Georgia, US, Central Veterinary Laboratory, UK.

Kalnov’s areas of expertise include immunochemistry, biochemistry, virology, bacteriology, development of EIA test systems, immunochromatographic test systems, biosensors for detection of especially dangerous infections and toxins, and bioactive compound test in vivo /in vitro.

He was awarded with the Medal “For Labor Valor”, USSR Presidential Decree dated 08.05.1991, No. 898205; Medal “In Commemoration of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow” dated 26.02.1997, No. B 0897424, and with Certificates of Honor of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for successful implementation of the R&D plan (1987).
